lone star

Throughout the following class periods, we've watched the movie Lone Star and at the beginning it seemed extremely boring. But as the story went on and the story unraveled it became more interesting. And then towards the end, the mystery started to become more revealing and the characters more interesting. Finally, the end came into the picture and it was the weirdest ending to a movie i've ever seen. For a man to make love to his half sister, find out, and then be ok with staying together with her seems absurd to me. The movie didn't really have any real "spark" until the very end. Most people would've have gone out of the movie around the half way point. But i will admit I was wanting to see the ending just so the whole movie wouldn't be a waste.

  1. I think that the fact the movie kept you guess till the last five minutes made it one of those movies that you have to finish no matter what. Also, this is one of few movies that I could not figure out before hand. There was absolutely no way that you could have seen the half-sister-brother lovers thing coming! Good job Sayles for keeping that a secret.
